This Introductory Course is aimed at people with no experience in Pointed Nib Calligraphy. Here is some essential information that will help you to succeed in understanding and easy your path to learning Modern Calligraphy and Copperplate.
Materials: You will need a basic Calligraphy kit that includes, pointed nib, pen holder, ink and good-quality paper. If you prefer, you can use a 2B pencil to start with before purchasing your kit.
Theory: The first two lessons cover the basic knowledge needed to understand your nib, how it works and how to do the basic strokes.
Practice: In lesson 3 you can download the two handouts and print them for your practice. If you will use a pencil, standard copy paper is ok, but if using ink, you need to print the handouts in colour laser quality paper or any other type with a smooth surface.
Online Webinar (optional): the best companion to this course, the two-hour Zoom session aims to demonstrate techniques and guide you through the practical exercises. It runs once a month, in English or Spanish and you can enrol here. Please check the BST equivalent to your country as the time on the product is British Summer Time.
